61. Why It Is Vital For Couples To Be On The Same Page With Raising Kids

In marriage, more often than not couples come from different backgrounds and have different experiences growing up which shapes "their" parenting styles and beliefs. For example, one might have had very strict parents with many rules and structure while the other spouse may have had very lenient parents with little structure. While neither one is right or wrong, our reality of how we were raised can shape our perception on how we should parent our kids. It is vital for couples to talk about "how" they are going to parent their kids and make sure they are on the same page with how they do it. If couples are not on the same page with how they raise their kids, it can cause some serious issues in the marriage. In fact, many divorces happen because of this.
